Hear the dramatic and harrowing story of the recovery of "Liberty Bell-7." American's second manned spacecraft that sunk more than 16,000 feet below the surface of the Atlantic following its successful landing, nearly taking the life of its pilot, Mercury astronaut Gus Grissom.

For 38 years, Liberty Bell-7 remained the only flown spacecraft yet to be recovered. The unbelievable expedition to recover the spacecraft in 1999 is still considered the deepest ocean recovery by a non-military group.
